There is a soldier named in the 'Armed forces'

page from the main index 'Bringing soldiers back to life' by the name of Thomas Dean (no photo). I'm just wondering how his name got there? I'm a descendent of the DEANS of Burnley. A Tom Dean from my family died in Italy in WW2 but he served with the NZ forces (born in Burnley though). My Tom was 'Tom' and not Thomas. I would be interested to know about Thomas Dean.

We are working on the main site at the moment which is why there are no pictures showing. I think there is one for Thomas Dean though I am not 100% certain.
I'll see if I have anything else on him later tomorrow and get back to you.

The photo is now visible again Glenys.

The info in the armed forces section is something we have been bringing together for a while now. The info about Pte. Thomas Dean has been gathered from a variety of sources - Kris found the will info, the CWGC provide burial details and obviously there is a newspaper article. As there is a 'joined up' date, it is possible that there is an entry on Ancestry.com in either the pension or service records.

Thankyou for the piece about Thomas Dean. He must be one of mine! but I have to get researching to find out where he fits in.
I have two great uncles buried in Italy from WW2. Both from Burnley and served with the NZ forces ...would you like their info for the site?
