| Post subject: | Private W Moran |
13 June 1916 Private W Moran Mr. Thomas Moran, a tram driver for the Burnley Corporation, of 9, Killington-street, Burnley, has just received word from his son Pte. William Moran, of the East Lancashire Regiment, that he is wounded and in hospital at Bombay. Pte. Moran, who is an old scholar of St. John's Catholic, Ivy-street, was formerly a weaver, and took part in the Dardanelles evacuation. His brother Samuel is serving with the R.A.M.C. In his letter Private Moran says:- "I was wounded on April 18th, and brought down here. I was shot through the right lung, and am getting on well. This is a large new hospital, and I have everything I want except health, so don't worry. I expect to leave here for Egypt soon." |
