Robert Wood and Esther Waterworth were married at Hill Lane Baptist on 4th Oct 1915. Picture of the wedding at It would be nice to re-unite this postcard with the descendants of the couple. Please get in touch if you think you are related to Robert Wood or Esther Waterworth. |

Re: http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Pho ... rriage.htm Mel, I looked at the Burnley in the Great War website and there is no Robert Wood who survived WW1, but there was one who was killed 27/07/1916. I wonder if there is a connection. http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_det ... ty=1555450 http://burnleyinthegreatwar.info/burnleyw.htm Name: WOOD, ROBERT Initials: R Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Gunner Regiment/Service: Royal Field Artillery Unit Text: 312th T.M. Does the site have ALL survivors? The CWGC doesn't give next of kin on that record does it. It's a big possibility. |

The site has most survivors (I believe), although I am not sure where the info has come from as many of the service records were destroyed during WW2 bombing raids. I might contact Burnley library for this mans obituary as it will probably name members of his family. I won’t contact them this week though as they are getting annoyed with all my queries…. |
