Hi Gloria, both of these wills relate to the same person, not sure why there was a grant as late as 1931, but maybe that was the year William’s wife died?

She died 11th Jan 1931, so that solves that.
They had a son William who she was expecting when he died, looks like he got the remainder. Wonder what the rest got.

1928 – BRIERLEY Joseph Luther of 1 Queen Street, Harle Syke near Burnley died 5 October 1928. Probate London 12 December to Amy Brierley, spinster and Henry Layfield, brewers clerk. Effects £242 15s. 3d.

Another good one Kris-----Joseph and Amy Brierley were son and daughter of William Brierley who died in the Morecambe Bay disaster. They were my gt gt aunt and uncle.
