I didn't look too closely at the time but now I've come back to it I think I've mad some connections. Apologies if I'm being a bit slow and just stating the obvious.

We have John Leaver 1849 and Nanny 1850, children of John (31/8/1815) and Nancy Edmondson. John (1849) married Ann Nuttall (b1849) whose father was a Thomas Nuttall.

There's a (possible) Hitchon connection in that John's 2nd cousin James (b 4/2/1830) married an Elizabeth Hitchon. But this may be a complete co-incidence.

Yes, John Leaver (21 Nov, 1848 – 13 May 1918) married Ann Nuttall (3 Aug 1849 - ?), 10 August 1872, at Briercliffe.

John was the son of John Leaver (1815-1864) and Nancy Edmondson (1818-1889)

And Ann Nuttall was the daughter of Thomas Nuttall (1817-?) and Elisabeth Spencer (1821-?)

Elisabeth Spencer was the daughter of John Spencer and Mary Hitchon.

And

John Leaver was known as Jack O’Nancy

and

"My aunt, who was Isabella Wiles, from your village, sent the cutting to my mother and said he (Jack O'Nancy's) is your grandfather. He was a building inspector, and was always very smart going to work. He wore a navy blue suit - shoes shined until you could see yourself in them."
Isabella's sister, Mary, married James Walsh, of Princess Street, Nelson, and they moved to Taunton and then Lowestoft, where he completed his career as Borough Treasurer. Mary was granddaughter of Jack O'Nancy's.
