On the above censuses, the mary & edward proctor (1901) are the mary Chadwick & Edward Proctor in the 1891 censuses. Priscilla Proctor married the Thomas Heap (b 19/4/1829) on the Heap tree under family trees.

I haven't found a death yet for any of the Edwards, apart from the very youngest who died at Dardanelles - 16/11/1915.
I think I've got a death date for Betty Leaver/ Proctor, I'll look it up.
As for Mary (k/a Polly), Ben remembers going to see her with his dad when he was a young boy - probably in the early 50s. So he guesses she died around the mid 1950s. I haven't found a death for her either.

I can't find Edward (b 1824) or Betty on the censuses after 1881, nor have I found a death yet for Edward.
I did find a possible death for Betty in 1881, aged 54.

Maureen, I have Betty Procter as the daughter of John Leaver (1794) and Ann Catlow (1796), but I am wonder if this is wrong because John Leaver was a gamekeeper in the 1851 & 1861 census. The marriage below says Betty Leaver’s father was a farmer.

There is another Betty Leaver (b. 1828), daughter of John Leaver (1806) and Mary Jackson. Betty Leaver is the right age, although the 1841 census is usually out, but I cannot find this family in 1851. Incidentally, Betty’s Brother John Leaver (1826) married Betty Proctor (1829), but according to that marriage his father was a weaver.

Kris, do you have the actual certificate for the Margaret Proctor/ Thomas Leaver marraige? If so, could the bride's address be Northbank?

Sorting through all these Proctor/ Leaver marriages (& found another in the process).
I make Margaret Leaver, who married Thomas Proctor, the daughter of John Leaver 1794 & Ann Catlow. She apppears on the 1841 census as Peggy. Assuming her address at the time of her marriage (1850) was Northbank, this is the same address as several of John & Ann's children on the 1851 census.
By the 1881 census Thomas's wife is named as Ellen.
There is a death for Margaret Procter (aged 50) in 1872. Then a marriage in 1873 between Thomas PROCTER and Ellen LEAVER.
The only Ellen Leaver I can find of the right age (b 1832 according to the 1881 census) is Elling - daughter of John 1794 and Ann Catlow. Which would make her Margaret Leaver's sister

After much head-scratching I'm back to believing the Betty Leaver who married a Proctor was the daughter of John 1794 & An Catlow

Betty, daur of John Leaver & Mary Jackson, married Lawrence Emmett so it can't be her. Betty, daur of William & Betty, married a Kippax so it can't be her.
Betty, daur of John Leaver & Ann Catlow, is the only one left of the right age.

Apart from that, I believe as I say that another of John & Ann's daughters (Margaret) married Thomas Proctor. She also described her father's occupation as farmer. Maybe he did both or maybe the title farmer was a bit broad?
My brain hurts.
I will forebear my usual comments about the plethora of John Leavers. Too much glass in my house. :(
