Hi everyone,

I bought the one for £60! It's more than I wanted to pay but I desperately wanted to get hold of a copy before my mum died. Some of my dad's ancestors are mentioned in there (Dearden/Duerden).

I found it through an Amazon link and given that the guy I bought it from offered to buy it back for £50 I considered it a win/win deal. But I've decided it's a keeper, it is so rare to find any sort of paper trail for any of my forebears, albeit sadly in this case a description of the poverty they lived in.

If anyone wants anything looking up or photocopying for their records I'd be happy to help.

PS Fantastic site!!

Hi MajorTom. Glad we know who got it. And that it was a member.
Another copy has just sold on ebay this evening for £51.

It really is a great book and well worth every penny.

Just had an e-mail from a Kippax contact of mine, her girls got the last one as a christmas present for her. How lovely, she is going to love reading it.

Usually the last Wednesday in the month Stephanie. They stop during the summer though, I don't think we have meetings in July or August.

You'll find the dates in the calendar on the main site http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Events%20Calendar.htm
I do update it as soon as I know what is happening myself.
