Hi Sues
I have Harry Bradshaw in my family tree living at Mar Street Duke Bar in 1891 and Delph Square Lane Head in 1901. Any connection?

I am looking into my grandmother's Annie Watson's (maiden name) history and found that she had a one year older brother called William Henry. You have posted a picture of him in the soldiers section and this confirms that he is the correct W.H. because I also found in our family files a Burnley Express cutting of his son Alan's wedding to Edith Bradshaw in 1937.

As it seems we are related, you might be able to solve the mystery surrounding W.H.'s father's parents. I have my grandmother's birth certificate and it tells me that her (and I assume, your grandfather's) was also called William Henry and that the mother was Nancy Watson, formerly Clough. I have found no record of them marrying but do have some evidence that Nancy died in 1900 and that W.H. Snr married an Ann Robson later in life and they both died in 1914 and were buried together. Perhaps we could exchange any data on the Watson side of our families; you may be interested to see two paintings signed W.H. Watson and given to my grandma as a wedding present in 1905.

I hope you are able to locate this message -- it's my first time on this site so am not sure if I am in the right area. If you do wish to follow this up, I can post my email address on the site.

Thanks,
Stephen P.

Many thanks for responding, Sues, and my gratitude to Mel and this excellent site for uniting two branches of the same family. I look forward to exchanging lots of interesting facts about our worthy ancestors. Mind you, at my age it may not be long before I am able to find out for myself!
