My sister attended this school in the early fifties. I presume it no longer exists, but if anyone has any information or could lead me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I went there in the early 50's. The building is still there (I think), but it isn't a school now.

SunnyBank, as you knew it closed, was later bought ( about 20 years ago I think) and re opened as a nursery school. Not a great success and it closed for the final time, not much later. Did your sister attend at the same time as Pat Alston or Simon Newton??

My sisters name was Penelope Jane Taylor(always known as Jane.) We lived up Hollin Hill and our father was a dentist.

The name doesn't ring a bell. I remember our classroom was upstairs at the front, and it had a bay window. I also remember having elocution lessons at lunch time, and making stables out of shoe boxes on the floor. There was a rocking horse somewhere, that I remember..... and having games in the park.

:D I like that thought Gloria, must remember it, :oops: sorry about the pun, I know everything is stored away, it's retrieving at the right time, not 4 hours after when no one knows what I'm talking about, that is the problem.

If you want revisit Sunny Bank it is at 171/173 Manchester Road, now a rather smart building which is either apartments or offices.
