:D Dolly blue bags? Remember them? For washing, But great for insect stings, but why did they do the trick on the stings I got as I child (could have done with one when a bee left me with an inflated hand at the weekend) what where they made of?

Hannah, If you feel the need you can still buy Reckitts Blue bags from http://www.carbolicsoap.com they are only 99p each. I remember them well, they were made up, I think from synthetic ultramarine and baking soda, there is a good article on wikipedia about them.

:o Ah, so it was the baking soda that was the cure all! Thanks, I will know what to slap on a bee sting in future.
