I have come across a freemasons address and a reply from a member of the royal family. The lodges represented were royal lancashire, silent temple, borough, and red rose of lancashire. Anyone able to throw any light on this?

Wow! Can't help with info though I'm afraid. Is this something in your family?

The documents were found with my mothers things when she passed away last year. I presume it came from my fathers side because my grandfather was secretary to a load of masonic lodges when he died in 1928. Maybe I should try an find a masonic historian if such a thing exists in Burnley!

You could try contacting one of the Burnley lodges, they should be able to help or point you in the right direction.
