Does anyone know of any on line link I can get into to trace a missing twig in my tree? I have a Mary E L Burrows born 1900, married Willie Burrows in 1923 but in BMD there do not appear to have been any births to the couple. I have later found them living in Garden St Brierfield in 1961 ( this info. came from her mother Sarah's death cert) I have no idea where they lived in between but the main problem they don't appear to have died??? No names up to the 1980's on BMD match them and they don't appear to be buried at Inghamite, Haggate or Burnley Cemetry. The women in the family all seemed to live into their 80's so BMD would not have her on their list, anyone have a website I have not tried A fresh pair of eyes may help me |

Nope, she was Mary Ellen Eastwood, born at Frazer St, Burnley in 1900 and is on the 1901 census at that address with brother Fred age 2 and later brother Rennie b. 1909. Fred died in WW1 and Rennie moved to Brierfield in 1961 when his mother moved in with Mary Ellen for the year prior to her death. Rennie died in 1983. I believe the records for Brierfield were lost in a fire? |

Just realised that her brother Fred would be in his early teens when he went to War and didn't make his late teens. So sad,but at least there is a plaque in what was the old Elim church to remember his sacrifice. Dare we compare him to the current generation of that age |

Don't leave it! You've spent time and money on it. What else are you going to do? Venture down another line and get depressed about that Post on here if you need a little assitance, you know we are all keen enough. p.s. the cert arrived quickly!! |

OK Mel, At least this week I have learnt of another member of this family and his wife. Arthur and Hilda appear to have no children. Fred died in gt. war Mary Ellen and Willie had no children youngest brother Rennie married to Doris Buzzo???( never heard that surname before) for 7 years, no children. At least in from 1961 to 1983 he lived in Brierfield with a lady who was an old friend ( was reliably informed some time ago by one of your contributors) he was listed as her lodger So on the bright side I have no more second cousins, what I have, have been enough trouble for me this year. |

P.S Just realised that Arthur and his sister Mary Ellen had the christian names of Leaver, their grandma's maiden name, was this a common practice? |
