Post subject:  Stoneyrakes Farm, Briercliffe
My 4x Great Grandfather Robert Hartley farmed at Stoneyrakes from at least 1851 to his death in 1863, his widow carried on farming there and then after her death her son James took over. He died at Stoneyrakes in 1914. Is it possible that someone could tell where abouts in Briercliffe Stoneyrakes was.

Hi,
its at the top of the narrow lane coming up from Catlow Bottoms towards Haggate. I think it straddles the lane nowadays. The lane (I think) is called Robin House Lane.
Head from Haggate, down through Lane Bottom, up the hill past Holt Hill Row on the right,
baout 500yds on left is Robin House Lane, Stoneyraikes is along there past the cottages on the left. If you start going doen hill through a very narrow lane you have passed it.
Hope that makes sense.
