Firstly I should like to say Hello to all here, as this is my first post.

( Though I have been sending Mel some more images for Burnley Graves, and have many more to come )

I've used the Manchester site for Veevers Grave look ups, and found it very useful. Images of burial records are available for a fee, but are very clear with good information which includes address of deceased.

I made a visit to Southern Cemetery, and Philips Park 2 years ago. Both are very well kept, and beautifully peaceful places.

Most graves are properly marked with their Grave No. I have maps of both which made life very much easier.

In it's early days Philips Park suffered from major flooding, and some graves and their "residents" were washed away. As with many cemeteries there are some areas where stones have been lost to frost damage, or removed for safety.

I was also advised to be wary of car crime in the area, but managed to find a good spot with plenty of people about. Don't be put off.

Welcome to the forum Miles and thanks again for the images. They can be find in the Graves section of the main site http://briercliffesociety.co.uk/Grave%20Stones.htm

I'm always wary when visiting graveyards at home and further afield. I never go alone, hoping that there is safety in numbers.
It's a sad world when a person cannot feel safe when paying their respects to a family member that has passed.
