Following yet another debate of LFHHS Yahoo forum re the book "A Fylde Country Practice" thefollowing was posted. Further to the recent postings in the topic of 'Fylde Country Doctor.............' I have contacted CNWRS at Lancaster University (they are still there even though it is vacation), to confirm the offer I mentioned is still available. It is @ £1.50 per book or 5 for £5 + postage of £1 per book or free if 2 or more books orderered. It closes on 31st October. The following titles are available: Walking Roman Roads in Lonsdale and the Eden Valley The Wray Flood of 1967: memories of a Lune Valley community A Fylde Country Practice: Medicine & Society in Lancashire, c.1760-1840 Rural Industries of the Lune Valley Furness Abbey: Romance, Scholarship & Culture Hadrian's Wall: A Social & Cultural History The Buildings of Georgian Lancaster A History of Catholicism in the Furness Peninsula 1127-1997 A History of Linen in the North West Sharpe, Paley & Austin: A Lancaster Architectural Practice 1836-1942 Stained Glass from Shrigley and Hunt of Lancaster and London I can e-mail the flier/order form off-list to anybody who wants it. I have no connections with CNWRS, other than being a regular attendee at their excellent study days. I am simply passing on information for members and Branch Librarians to acquire these publications at a 'giveaway' price. |
