On Thursday 9th February at 7pm Dr Andy Gritt will be lecturing in the Darwin Building at the University of Central Lancashire. His lecture will be entitled ' Who Were The Poor? ;Poverty & the Workhouse in 19th Century Lancashire' .

There is no fee payable and tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis. Apply for tickets to:-

I've asked for 2 tickets. Bit miffed really as I'm actually a member of the Alumni Association and I knew nothing about it. Good job Gloria's on the case!

Well my tickets never came :( . Didn't even get a reply to say there were none left.
I always thought it was a rubbish University :lol:

They never asked for tickets when we all went in, and there were a few vacant seats. It was in a lecture hall with the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat on, I was fidgeting after 15min.
The talk was quite interesting and it didn't come over as bad as we are led to believe it was. The talk was about 1hour then a question and answer 30mins.
Glad we went but have had backache ever since.

that's even more galling - we could've just turned up. Apart from the bad seats I think we would've enjoyed it.
