It has been bought to my attention by Amanda Sharp, and I'm not sure if members are aware but, Ancestry.com is available for free at some libraries. It might be worth contacting your local library to find out more if you are not lucky enough to acess this facility at home. |

Ancestry now has WW1 Medal Rolls, Service records and Pension records as well as Royal Naval casualties. I have also noticed today that they have started the Tithe Applotment Books and Griffith’s Valuation Index, useful to anyone with Irish ancestry. Is anyone else having trouble with Ancestry. I have been searching a lot of images recently and all of a sudden it comes up as "loading" but nothing happens. It doesn't happen in the same place, or after the same length of time. I have contacted Ancestry, but wondered if it is just my problem

I have had that in the past Gloria but not for a while. Occasionally accompanied by an image...of a little boy if I remember right. I wondered if it was when their server is busy but this is only my assumption. I should hope they had a server good enough to cope with double the demand! I have been on this morning and not had any bother |

I have been searching births and marriages. It lets me do about 10yrs sometimes, then today it stops after 12 months. I am going over what I have looked at in the past week, so it is not doing it in the same place---very annoying. |

I have just been on Ancestry and they seem to have updated their ww1 medal index have found both my grandfathers in five minutes. Sues. |

Ancestry are charging (even to current subscribers though it does erhaps depend on your package) for this new database. Searching is free and the resulting index is free but it's cough up time to view any records. |

Anyone having problems with ancestry? I've been on all day and then now it's gone stupid. Error page when clicking any of the UK census collections. |
