I'm seeking Information on William Victor Greenwood born 1887 in Habergham Eaves to Sarah Greenwood nee Edmondson born abt 1844 in Hazel Grove Cheshire. She married a William Greenwood in 1873 at Holy Trinity in Habergham Eaves. William Victor Greenwood married his cousin Sarah Edmundson in 1908 both residing at 62 Adamson St Padiham. In the 1911 census William Victor was working in a Print Works and living at 6 Habergham St Padiham. We know a little about his WW1 service in the RAMC and his life from the 1930's to his death in Sydney Australia in 1967. Can anyone fill in the details of his early life and what he was up to in the 1920's?

We now know that he married another cousin Sarah J Firth in 1918 in Stockport. Are there any Forth's who can tell us what happened to his first two marriages?i

Hi,
Habergham St Padiham can be found here if you want to see it.

Not sure if the houses are there now, it looks like a car park. There/were lots of factories and mills in the area. Do you know where he was, and what he was doing in the 1901 census?

Patricia,

Is William Victor Greenwood mentioned in “The Book” (Barrett’s Directory of Burnley and District 1914)?

Airman, do you have the shipping records for William’s trip to Australia? If not, you might be able to find them at www.findmypast.com

I wonder if it's worth putting your query in the Burnley Express/Padiham News, you may find some relatives, or info that way. http://www.burnleyexpress.net/padihamnews
