The 3rd Edition is expected to be even more popular than earlier editions. Coverage is incomplete, but over 18.4 million records are included in this edition, covering 1538-2008. The NBI also incorporates those records previously published of which many have since been checked and corrected. Millions of these records will not be found on any website

http://www.ffhs.org.uk/projects/nbi/nbi-v3.php

Price is £30.

Those who own geniune copies of the 2nd edition can upgrade for £15. You need to send disc one of edition 3 to the FFHS along with the order form on their site. See the above link for more information

Version 2 has over 13 million records.
Looking at the coverage map on the FFHS site and the one on version 2, Lancashire has a lot more records included. Think I will be ordering this. This years birthday present...or have I already allocated something else to be my pressie

Hubby doesn't really do birthdays (or Christmas), he's never bought me a pressie without me prompting him and saying ' thats what I would like' and even then he tells me to go buy it or order it myself.
He says I can have what I want when I want if we can afford it. I've told him this is what I'm having for my birthday. He says 'why, is it your birthday' :?

Not very impressed with FFHS. I ordered a copy of the NBI3 at the end of April. My cheque was only presented last week and as yet, I've not received my copy. My NBI2 is rendered useless because they request disc 1 be sent to them if you want to upgrade which I did. The NBI won't work without disc 1!
I emailed and phoned yesterday. My first email bounced and all I got on phoning was an answerphone. NOT impressed :x

I think I will be making a nuisance of myself with them today. Is it me or would you consider this to be bad service?

No it's not you Mel, it's a very bad service by the sounds of it------or something has gone seriously wrong with their organisation.

It's arrived this morning. Just need to figure out how to use it now.
The downside to a netbook is that it does not have a CD drive - thank goodness I have an external one!!

Have had a little time with the disc today. There's more coverage for Lancs than on the last edition but nothing for the Burnley and surrounding area. Staffordshire seems to have a better coverage as does Yorkshire West Riding.
