Burnley News Wednesday 13 June 1928 Cherry-Hart Interesting Wedding at Hanover Church Hanover United Methodists Church, Burnley, was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday afternoon. The contracting parties were Mr Alwyn Cherry A.C.A., only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Cherry, 63, Thursby-rd, and Miss Alice Hart, elder daughter of Mrs Hart of 31. Claughton-street, and the late Mr J.F.S.Hart. Much interest was taken in the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Stanley Luke, both the bride and bridegroom having been intimately associated with Hanover, the former as member at one time of the choir, and the latter as teacher, finance treasurer, and school secretary. Since leaving school 11 1/2 years ago, Mr Cherry has been with the firm of Proctor and Proctor, chartered accountants, of Burnley and Manchester. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Ernest Hart, wore white crepe-de-chine embroidered with silver beads. She had a coronet of orange blossom with an embroidered veil, and carried a bouguet of lilies and roses. She was attended by Miss Elizabeth Hart, her sister, and Miss Edna Hart, her cousin, who were both attired in pink crepe-de-chine embroidered with silver. Each had a blck picture hat and a bouquet of pink roses. Mr Irvin T Sanderson, friend of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man, and Mr R Hart, brother of the bride, and Mr Harry Crawshaw were the groomsmen. Mr W Smith, Junr., played appropriate music on the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held in Hanover School. Mr and Mrs Cherry have received many handsome and useful presents. The honeymoon is being spent at KEswick. On their return they will reside at Prestwich, Manchester.
