I’m trying to obtain copies of Lanehead school class photographs from around 1956 to around 1961.

The particular classes I looking for had, to name but a few, the following pupils, David James, Derek Farrington, David Yeoman, Alan Royle, Ian Smith, and the late but not forgotten Alan Black and Ian Lindsey.

If anyone has these photographs or knows where I could get hold of copies please PM me, it would be gratefully appreciated.

Many Thanks
syke

Hi
Have you tried the Burnley Express they do keep copies of some photographs but not sure how long they keep them for, failing that it would mean searching through the back copies of the Express around the time you are looking at in the reference library in Burnley. All editions of the Express are copied onto film but it would be a time consuming exercise if you dont know the actual dates.
On the other hand you may get lucky and someone sees it on here who has a copy.
Good luck
David

One last thought.I assume that you have checked the school photos on the photo archive on this site? There are some Lanehead School Photos from around that time.

Hi Syke,
hopefuly someone will be able to help you out.
Should you wish to use the pictures on the main site, ( http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Photo%20Archive/School%20Photos.htm ) please seek permission from Gloria, she is the submitter of all of the Lanehead pictures.

Thanks for your prompt reply David.

Yes I've viewed the one published here unfortunately without much luck and as I can only recall one or two photos ever being taken over the 5/6 it would indeed be a very time consuming exercise trying to locate them.

Thanks again

Thanks for that Mel. As I replied to David above, I have viewed the one's on site without success.

The Photos submitted by Gloria are I think up to 1956, she and I are on one or two of them, the names mentioned by Syke do not ring any bells. I suggest they were in later years. I wonder if the school keeps any of the old photos?

Hi Judi,

I would have thought the first possible year would be 1956 or 1957. The only other person I know of who does actually have copies of these photographs is Jack Stuttard, who I recall started teaching at the school somewhere around 1957/8.

Unfortunately I understand Jack's not been to well lately and therefore would not wish to bother him.

Regards
Syke

I have a book! Lent to me by Portia! It never registered that it's the same school!
I'll have a look in it and see if there is anything of interest!

Have checked the book, there's only one picture and it is dated as 1950. I'm assuming this is too early?

Are you hoping to publish something Syke or is it purely personal interest?
