We haven't got our newsletter :( and I don't know when I'm going either. Bit like the 3 witches from MacBeth - "When shall we three meet again . . ."

My newsletter did say 'hot off the press' so perhaps they haven't hit the postbox generally just yet? If it's any consolation, mum hasn't had hers yet either.

You'll both be at the meeting on 24th September?

There was no summer!

We'll have to see what the plan is in another week or so for the exhibition.

We went to the exhibition. Good to see you again Gloria. Nice to meet you - Moh and Martin.

Martin - apologies that I couldn't hang around any longer.

How did the anniversary celebrations go? I see some attended the exhibition...do you have photos of the events? I really wanted to attend...but life got in the way!

It wasn't as much "events" as a room with pics, maps, WW1 details and some family trees. The trees were Greenwood, Proctor (I think) and one other, which I cannot remember. Mel will, she hasn't go to the age of memory loss yet
We sat down, had a brew---where else can you get one for 50p? and had a good natter.

I remember seeing Thornton. I was too engrossed trying to take in what was on display that is not on the site. I tried to phone Roger yesterday and got his answerphone, he called back and got mine! I would like to borrow more material before he puts it away.

Sue, there was a picture on display that your Dad was in - one of the cricket ones that is here on the site.

Thanks!
Were there many locals having a snuffle around...not otherwise involved in the society?

I was there for a couple of hours on the Saturday morning - there was a steady trickle of folk coming and going, a couple of them do go to the history group. Roger told me that Saturday was a busier day than Sunday though Sunday afternoon picked up nicely.

There were quite a few pictures with Leavers in them Kris. I didn't study the documents that were on show in great detail. I phoned Roger last week to ask about borrowing more pictures etc. but we ended up talking to each others answerphones. I'll try again today, I could do with speaking to him before the meeting on Wednesday as this is when I would like to relieve him of a little of the collection.

Hi Kris, hope you enjoyed your trip.
There were a few sporting pics, cricket and football teams, I think from the 1920's ish. They contained some Leavers and an odd Kippax--some people would say I am the "odd" Kippax
