I think I would make copies or notes of the details Sue rather than bring the originals. That way they don't get lost/stolen/damaged.
You packing your bags already

We will be away when the April meeting takes place. We go the weekend before and get back the weekend after, so we won't be able to meet you. :-(

April 17 to 26th...not long enough but daughter who will be coming with me is still working and needs to get back. Bringing dad's ashes....visiting with relative Shirley (nee Halstead) in B/pool...and we all have made a point of arranging to be present at the April Briercliffe meeting (24th??).
Will be at Portland Hotel in M/cr Piccadilly first 4 days in week 1 and doing a visit of old schools with old school chums (not seen for 55 years!!!)and visiting with family friends ....Blackpool from Saturday to Wednesday following week....and then to Briercliffe. Hoping to stay overnight somewhere around there...B&B at Cockden if it is still open......and then to Manchester for last night at Holiday Inn near airport. Phone number and recommendations of any B&B in the area would be appreciated....I have Googled, but not pinned anything down yet.

You were very helpful, Gloria, when I first joined this site...and I wanted to buy you a drink at least...dinner if possible.....was hoping to get together with Mel too for dinner before the meeting...or drinks after...or...or....

Are you scattering/placing ashes?

I think the meeting is the 25th - it's the last Wednesday. If you get no joy with the Cockden B&B (I have half a feeling that it shut), there is a Holiday Inn and a Premier Inn nearby. Not family run characteristic places but a clean bed?

I need to find out if mum will be with me (she usually is) and what else she might have on that week though it might be too soon to say for sure yet. It's possible we may also be able to stay over that night. If thats the case then drinks after would be most enjoyable
Otherwise, a meet up before would be better as we have an 85 mile drive back after the meeting.

I'll have a look for links for the hotels.

edit: Contact details for Cockden - Bed & Breakfast. Address: Todmorden Road; Burnley, Lancashire; BB10 3QQ; 01282 831324

We go away friday 20th April and back sunday 29th April so it would have to be before we went. We could maybe pop into Manchester in the few days before.
