I have received a query by email about Mereclough

Is Mereclough included within the area of Briercliffe? My husband\'s gt gdfather was head of the school at Mereclough for 33 years before his death in 1916. I noticed a postcard of the Wesleyan church on your website and wonder if the school was attached to the church.

I know that Mereclough isn't part of Briercliffe but was the school attached to the church?

From what bits I can gather, the chapel was on the Long Causeway "opposite School Lane". http://www.lfhhs-pendleandburnley.org.u ... /xcli1.htm
Which might suggest that the school wasn't attached to the Chapel, just close by
