My uncle Willie (known as Bill) Greenwood born in Harle Syke in 1896 served in the first World War and it was said he was at the Dardanelles. I can\'t find his records but you may be able to help? He was born and lived at the Post Office and was the first born son of William Greenwood and Harriet Hartley. My father, Tom, was the sixth and last of the children.
I\'d also like to see the service record of Alf Barker of Harle Syke b.1897 (a great uncle). They both returned but by the time Alf got back his parents and brother had died in the flu epidemic and he had to live with his sister and husband Wilfrid Nuttall in 1 Jubilee Street.

Some service records are available on Ancestry.co.uk. I believe they do pay per view as well as monthly and annual subscriptions.

I'll have a look on ancestry.
Cannot see either Willie (Bill) Greenwood or Alf Barker.
