I have just dug this one out again to give myself a headache I have been trying to find this James Kippax stonemason, the James Kippax father of Nancy Spencer's child in the censuses, but they all seem to be weavers-----can anyone else find him?

I think you could have found him Charon, thankyou.
I have decided I am going around with my eyes shut at the moment.
I had got it into my head that James was the same James (born 1817) who was my 3Xgt grandfather, now it would appear that he isn't----hopefully.

It's a while since this was posted so I am hoping you are still connected.

In researching a family member I have found they were baptized in 1790 at Hillgate Tabernacle, Stockport despite living near Sabden. Did you find out why your ancestor was baptized there and not locally, please? I am struggling to discover why they went all the way to Stockport.

I have got the Reverend Peter Walkdens Diary CD, and it includes the baptism register of Rev Peter Walkden 1709-1769, and the baptism register of Rev Henry Walkden 1747-1793 for Chapels at Garsdale, Chipping, Newton, Hesketh Lane, Holcome, Stockport Old Chapel and Tingtwistle, Heavily Hall nr Stockport, Wimondhouses Newton and Hesketh Lane.
What are the names you have and I will look on the CD.

I think itinerant ministers were involved, so that travel to Stockport would not be !
