Mel, we are to be cherished we have loads of memories, any little thing can set you off down memory lane when you get as "less young" as us.

Well, here we are, 11 years on, and I have I think got confirmation that the ginnel was indeed Dukes Lane.

In Nov 1929, according to the local paper, a bus had an accident on Marsden Rd at its junction with Dukes Lane. Most of the houses from 20 to 28 (evens) were damaged. Googlemaps shows that still today these are at the junction of the topmost of the Lane. Casterton Ave, made in the 1930s, cut through, and part of the lane at some point became Thames Ave.

I am dead chuffed.
