:( : I need help! I am completely,utterly,baffled and bemused.
In otherwords, I'm stuck!!!
Searching for my Thistlethwaite roots, have discovered that George, b1743, son of John, was baptised in Rylstone Church. The documents from Northallerton archives, cost £14 and tell me nothing new other than John was a 'marchant' (merchant?)
They could not find any record of John's marriage or other siblings at the church.
Search on Family Search website gives me a strong possibility in John, b.1712 in Dent. married Mgt. Close in 1744 in Dent.
I typed in a number of christian names and came up with three born to the above couple and born in Dent. Eldest b. 1747.

So I have traced Mgt. born in Ravenstonedale, died on 9th May 1768 in Dent.
How do I prove that George was her eldest?
If I could, I can then easily trace back to 1621.
Am told that the records office in Kendal will have info. but will it be anymore than I have?

All contributions, gratefully received :?
