I'm trying to find information about my family of Waltons from briercliffe. I have a James Walton born approx 1823 to a William Walton. He married Mary pounder in 1847ish and they had children including Barbara, Martha and Robert my direct ancestor. It's not the same James Walton who married Sarah hand was the manufacturer as mine were not well off. Barbara married a man with the surname Haworth, think it was a Halstead Haworth who had the craven heifer and star Inn. Robert married Mary pounder. Can anyone help with this briercliffe Walton family pkease

Hello Shirley,

See Haggate birth register index on this site. James son of William and Susan, also two sisters.

William married Susan Taylor at Burnley a week before James' birth !

I know the area well, and can help on placenames, sorces, etc.

Rex
