Sex Violence and Religion in the Northern Province, 1300-1858
To celebrate the launch of the York Cause Papers Database, The Borthwick
Institute for Archives is pleased to present a one day conference bringing
together leading academics working on church court records. Topics will include
the use of the cause papers in local and family history, ecclesiastical lawyers,
gender and memory, storytelling in the courts, tithes, penence and marriage.
There will also be an introduction to the database.
The conference is to be held on Saturday 13 November 2010 at The Berrick Saul
Building, University of York.The price for the day is £18.00 which includes
